Domain-Driven Design (DDD) is a robust software development methodology centred on modelling complex software behaviours by aligning technical execution with core business principles. The OCSMP Model Builder – Fundamental exam assesses the knowledge and skills necessary to create a foundational SysML model for a system. The examination encompasses model concepts and organization, the capture and management of basic requirements, structure and behavior models, parametric models, allocation relationships, and the application of stereotypes. By leveraging the knowledge and skills acquired at this level, along with proficiency in a compatible SysML modeling tool, a holder of the OCSMP Model Builder – Fundamental Certification should effectively contribute to modeling tasks performed by a Systems Engineering team adopting a model-based systems engineering approach using SysML. The OCSMP Model Builder – Fundamental Certification serves as a prerequisite for the program’s two higher-level certifications and requires the OCSMP Model User Certification as its foundation.  

This examination (along with others in the OCSMP series) evaluates your ability to apply the listed knowledge and skills within the context of a system model. As you study, look beyond individual diagrams to understand how the aspects they represent can influence or affect other aspects of the system depicted in different diagram types.
