OMG Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) Training Course

This training will guide you on how to use SysML, the modeling language for systems engineering. You will primarily explore block diagrams for structuring complex systems, and delve into sequence, state machine, and activity diagrams for dynamic modeling. You will also learn to use specific SysML diagrams such as requirements diagrams and parametric diagrams, as well as the concept of allocation. We will emphasize the importance of establishing a modeling approach tailored to the company's context and the type of system under study. Practical exercises will be conducted using the Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw) modeling tool by NoMagic.

The Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) serves as a specialized architecture framework designed for the United States Department of Defense. It offers a structured approach to addressing specific stakeholder concerns by organising them into viewpoints across various views.

DoDAF establishes a collection of views that function as tools for visualising, comprehending, and integrating the extensive scope and intricacies of an architecture description. These views can be presented through tabular, structural, behavioural, ontological, pictorial, temporal, or graphical formats.

This framework is particularly effective for managing large-scale systems that face complex integration and interoperability challenges. Notably, DoDAF stands out for its operational views, which clearly delineate the external customer’s operational domain where the system under development will function.

This introductory training course on Enterprise Architect is tailored for individuals who want to leverage Sparx Systems’ UML modelling tool, Enterprise Architect, for their modelling tasks but are not yet familiar with its features, functions, and application.

Through a blend of lectures, demonstrations, and interactive labs, this course illustrates the foundational practices for establishing and maintaining an Enterprise Architecture (EA) using the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) version 1.2.

This programme is tailored for professionals who already possess an ITIL® 4 Foundation certification and wish to update their expertise to the latest ITIL® 5 framework. It offers a concise and efficient transition, emphasising the key distinctions, new concepts, and expanded practices introduced in ITIL® 5.

This training programme offers a thorough introduction to ITIL® 5, the contemporary framework designed for managing digital products and services in today’s rapidly evolving landscape. It empowers participants with a robust understanding of how organisations can generate value through efficient service management and collaborative efforts.

This instructor-led, live training in Malaysia (online or onsite) is designed for intermediate-level IT professionals and ICT service managers who aim to grasp and apply ITSM fundamentals and practices rooted in ITIL 4.

The OCSMP Model Builder – Fundamental exam assesses the knowledge and skills necessary to create a foundational SysML model for a system. The examination encompasses model concepts and organization, the capture and management of basic requirements, structure and behavior models, parametric models, allocation relationships, and the application of stereotypes. By leveraging the knowledge and skills acquired at this level, along with proficiency in a compatible SysML modeling tool, a holder of the OCSMP Model Builder – Fundamental Certification should effectively contribute to modeling tasks performed by a Systems Engineering team adopting a model-based systems engineering approach using SysML. The OCSMP Model Builder – Fundamental Certification serves as a prerequisite for the program’s two higher-level certifications and requires the OCSMP Model User Certification as its foundation.  

This examination (along with others in the OCSMP series) evaluates your ability to apply the listed knowledge and skills within the context of a system model. As you study, look beyond individual diagrams to understand how the aspects they represent can influence or affect other aspects of the system depicted in different diagram types.

UPDM is an Object Management Group (OMG) initiative to develop a modeling standard that supports both the USA Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and the UK Ministry of Defence Architecture Framework (MODAF). The modeling standard is called the Unified Profile for DoDAF and MODAF (UPDM).

This programme is tailored for business analysts, managers, team leaders, and process owners, equipping them with the essential skills to develop use case diagrams and scenarios. These artefacts facilitate the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and communication of functional requirements. Participants will engage in hands-on exercises to construct use cases using the Unified Modeling Language (UML), enabling them to visually depict the interactions between actors and use cases.
