  • Presenting a pre-prepared talk on a work-related topic of the delegate's choice.

Note: The length of each presentation depends on the course duration and group size. A cohort of eight is considered optimal.

Constructing a Presentation

  • Key questions for the presenter to address in advance:
    • Why am I the right person to present this?
    • Logistical details: what, where, when, how, and duration
    • How these responses influence the overall structure of the talk
  • Organising content effectively:
    • Conducting research to master the subject matter
    • Arranging the content in a logical sequence
    • Developing and integrating supporting visual aids

Preparing the Presenter

  • The three essential communication channels for presenters:
    • Verbal: Choosing appropriate words while avoiding slang and industry jargon
    • Vocal: Managing tone and sound to eliminate distracting verbal habits or filler words
    • Visual: Projecting professional presence through attire, body language, and demeanor
  • Rehearsing the presentation and gathering candid input from reliable sources
  • Techniques for managing stage fright

Setting the Stage

  • Arranging room layouts to convey appropriate messages to the audience
  • Utilising the physical space to elevate the presentation experience

Presentation Skills – Refinement

  • Delivering a second presentation (following adequate preparation time).
